night stands... sanded, almost there!

I spent the last couple of days sanding these, and they already look great. 

I plan on painting them a cream color, and of course, sanding parts of them back down to make them look distressed. 

Because that's my favorite.

Turn these hideous night stands into something shabby chic. Im going to sand them down, and paint them a cream color and then of course, rough them up really good!

I'm going to make mine black, and spray paint the chicken wire black!

I think this will be so cute in my dining room!

Mom's Visit - Part II

Mom wanted to take this picture, and Devin made fun of her! 

He said that we weren't in high school....

We hiked Mt. Baldy!

This was mom's method of getting down the steep mountain! haha! 

To her defense, it was her first day here and she really didn't want to sprain her ankle!

Mom made us a cushion for our bench. 

We DIED laughing when she was trying to stuff the foam in the case.... seriously! What a pain it was!

Devin made herb-crusted salmon one night, it was delish!

and this is what I wanted in return! : )

Sadly, we didn't catch anything, but mom still got to take some smoked salmon home!

Mom's Visit - Part I

Devin's mom came to visit us for 12 days! 

We had a great time while she was here!

We went on a 6 hour Fjords Tour!

It was a little chilly ; )

Chunks of ice floating around us

the glacier. This glacier has been here since 1909, it loses about 6 feet of ice a day, but also gains 6 feet of ice a day... thus why it is still here! Amazing! We heard it crack, it was so loud! We also got to see big chunks fall off!

We saw three Humpback whales!

I took Dramamine.... it was an expensive nap! 

(Devin was just tried from work ; )

It was beautiful, to say the least! 

We were blesses with sunshine this day also! 

(we'd had 28 days of rain before that!!!)
